Great article,and another reminder of the importance of managing your cyber footprint.
“Imagine someone having all the information about you just by looking at you through a pair of Google Glasses”;
This risk can be mitigated by ensuring that you minimize the amount of personal information you put out in the world (cyber space).Of course this is a habit which many users struggle to get themselves acquainted to; something which is often easier said than done.
As a compensating control to this risk, there are a number of practices a user can adopt which could decrease or even alleviate the risk:
1. The most obvious one- Just don’t do it! Do not post or publish any personal information on the World Wide Web
2. Should you feel a strong urge to publish this information, adopt a web pseudonym, one that separates the real world you from the world wide web you
3. Place emphasis on the difference between your personal web profile, to that of your professional web profile, most simple examples being FaceBook & LinkedIn
4. Lastly, and most importantly, do not post or publish any personal information on the World Wide Web
